I have a lot of avid outdoors men and women in my family and sometimes they are hard to shop for; I’ve come up a DIY gift idea for shooting aficionado. What do you get the avid outdoors man, target shooter, nerf gun aficionado, paintball player, or hunter who has everything? This year for my brother’s birthday, I picked up a gift card to a popular hunting and fishing store, but I needed something more and a fun presentation. So, the “Shoot, We Didn’t Know What to Get You” tag was born!
Things you’ll need to complete this DIY gift project:
- A wide mouth pint size canning jar with lid and ring
- Ammo, Paint Balls or Nerf Gun Ammo
- An Empty Toilet Paper Tube
- A Gift Filler for the Toilet Paper Tube
- Cardstock or Paper for Printing the Gift Tag
- String
- Hole Punch
The assembly is super simple too! Take a wide mouth pint-size canning jar and an empty toilet paper tube. Place the tube in the center of the jar and carefully stack your ammo around the tube. Once the outside cavity is full, place your gift inside the tube. I used a gift card, so the tube had to be bent a little to fit the card. You could easily fill the tube with cash or candy too!
Word of caution, if you’re using paintball ammo, be sure to put your filler in your tube inside a zip lock bag so that it is safe in case a paint ball bursts!
