Hello wonderful fellow gardeners! It’s been awhile since I have posted, but I have been busy with the garden. I am ready to give you and June 2022 Garden Update!

The garden has already blessed us with a bountiful harvest of corn, fingerling potatoes, bush lake green beans, cucumbers and tomatoes this year. We’re in a severe drought with the daily high on most days over 100 degrees, those crops have finished producing.

The California Black Eye Peas are ready and I’m letting the seed pods dry to store as dry beans. I will save these for my special New Years Day menu. Black eye peas have to bring more luck when you grow them yourself, right?

After growing all of these things….I decided to expand.

I made a second garden plot of three rows! It consists of a second crop of watermelons using Sugar Baby and Sangria varieties. Cantaloupes, porcelain doll pumpkins and specked hound squash are also in the second plot.
